Mimi Plevin-Foust is an award-winning writer, director and producer with over 20 years’ experience in documentary production, video production for non-profit groups, and screenwriting. Most recently, she produced profiles of socially conscious companies and individuals for Project Love’s ‘Values-In-Action’ TV series on Fox-8. She has been producing videos for non-profit groups for the past six years.
Documentaries that Mimi has directed and produced include ‘Wide Time: An HIV Odyssey’, an award-winning one-hour film about long-term AIDS survivors and their strategies for thriving with a life-threatening illness (filmed in New York City and Berlin; distributed by Aquarius Health Care Media), and ‘Hopes and Fears: Rusti’s Story’, a film that follows Rusti Miller, a four-year-AIDS survivor, mother, and new grandmother, as she makes a critical treatment decision.
Ms. Plevin-Foust served as Associate Producer on the documentary ‘Shaker Heights: The Struggle for Integration’ which premiered at the Cleveland International Film Festival and was broadcast in almost 100 cities on PBS, followed by free distribution to Ohio high schools.
She received an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Her screenplays have been semi-finalists in the Academy of Motion Pictures’ Nicholl Fellowships and Finalists in the Writers Guild of America Fellowships.
